1. How to clean a whirlpool air purifier filter?

Whirlpool air purifier filters should be cleaned every three months. For your convenience, the filter light on the control panel will start flashing when it is time to clean or replace them.

To clean your pre-filter and HEPA filter:

• Remove the outer mask from the top of the unit by pressing down on both sides and pulling up.
• Remove the pre-filter from the bottom of the outer mask. Gently wash with a mild detergent and allow it to air dry completely before replacing (allow at least 24 hours).
• Open front cover, remove HEPA filter by pulling down on the tab at top of the filter and lifting out. Wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before replacing (allow at least 24 hours).

Note: Do not wash the carbon pre-filter. This filter is designed to absorb odors and should be replaced when it begins to lose its effectiveness (approximately four months).
